Meditation Tapes

If you find that you have less time for meditation due to increased workload or deadlines at your job, or due to your family responsibilities, you may want to try meditation tapes to help you achieve your mental state of rest faster. Meditation tapes can give you the edge you need to complete what you have to, and still have be able to find time for yourself with what is left over. There are a variety of tapes available to suit most every taste or need.

If you are a beginner in meditation, you will probably be most interested in a tape that has a guide’s voice leading you into your mental meditative state. You will want to make sure that the meditation tapes you choose have a voice you find soothing, but still commanding enough to take seriously. Make sure the tape has different lengths so you can choose a fifteen minute program, thirty minute program or hour long program depending on the time you have available for meditation. By using these tapes as a beginner, you will quickly learn the basics of meditation and you will be on your way to mastery.

If you are advanced enough in meditation, you may want to choose a tape that has nature soundtracks on it. Nature soundtracks could include the crash of ocean waves against a rocky shore, or it could be a soft and gentle rainfall. They may have bird songs available, or you may find one that gives you sounds of crickets, owls and other nocturnal creatures. There may be a meditation tapes that have the wind blowing or a distant thunder rolling through the background. There are many different selections available, and some tapes may even have a shortened track of each of these.

Only true masters should use meditation tapes that include music. Music is often relaxing, but can keep your mind occupied and prevent it from reaching the perfect peaceful state that you desire. If you do choose a musical meditation tape, choose something that doesn’t have song lyrics or a strong beat to distract you.
