Relaxation Days
Because of all the responsibilities that people have today between work and their families, many are now using what are called relaxation days. These are days that are spent away from family and friends, and away from any responsibilities that you may have. You will want to try this after you have heard the benefits, but the first thing you must remember is this – Don’t take a Saturday as your relaxation day. The pressures of taking care of the children, or spending time with your spouse will distract you from the real goal of the day – relaxation. Instead, take a day off from work, preferably in the middle of the week to help break up your workweek.
What should you eat on your relaxation days? Whatever you choose, there are two general rules. First of all, never cook for yourself on these days. You are having people wait on you hand and foot, and this includes meals. Find a restaurant that you really enjoy and treat yourself to your favorite dish. If you have a restaurant that you adore, but your spouse or family doesn’t like to eat there, this is the perfect day to go and enjoy a quiet meal of your favorite food. The second rule you will want to remember is not to eat too much, or eat anything that will weigh heavily on you. This is your day to enjoy yourself – you don’t want to remember how you almost fell asleep because you ate too much lunch.
What should you do on your relaxation days? You’ll feel like a queen if you let people do for you all day long! Get a massage, have your nails done, or get a make over. If you enjoy being surrounded by nature, go the park and lose yourself on a trail. Don’t hurry through anything on this day, and if you see something that sparks your curiosity, take a few minutes to investigate it. Stopping occasionally to smell the roses will make for some wonderful memories of your day all to yourself.
Everyone should incorporate relaxation days in their monthly schedule. If you have a group of friends you enjoy spending the day with, this would be a good time to share with them. Once you have the time of your life, this will become a regular thing you will look forward to!
